Course Description

This course takes the database administrator beyond the basic tasks covered in the first workshop. Participants will begin by gaining a deep understanding of the most important responsibilities a DBA has: performing backup and recovery. In this course also, they will learn how to diagnose and repair data failures with Flashback technology, manage space to optimize database storage so they can respond to growing space requirements and monitor and manage major database components, including memory, performance and resources. Finally they will also learn how to secure the availability of their database through appropriate backup and recovery strategies and Automate DBA tasks with the Scheduler.
