Course Description

API 650 standard establishes minimum requirements for material, design, fabrication, erection, and inspection for vertical, cylindrical, aboveground, closed- and open-top, welded storage tanks in various sizes and capacities for internal pressures approximating atmospheric pressure, but a higher internal pressure is permitted when additional requirements. This standard applies only to tanks whose entire bottom is uniformly supported and to tanks in non-refrigerated service that have a maximum design temperature of 93 °C (200 °F).

This course helps the candidates to learn the depths of this standard and become a competent applicator of API 650.

The candidates will be able to match up the standard with field application via visuals of manufactured tanks and tank details. it will be easier for candidates to understand the logic of the standard with calculation examples. Also, experiments and key point will be shared with the candidates during the course.

Course Objectives

  • Understanding the scope and limitations of API 650
