Course Description
In this course, participants will find out what it is possible to do with DIALux 4.12. Using this software with its high-performance features they can achieve the targets they are aiming for in lighting design. They can produce professional documentation with explicit calculations and good images. Participants will also learn how to create an interaction between indoor and outdoor scene. Their calculation will consider daylight and control it.

Course Details/Schedule
Day 1
- Lighting Designs
- Introduction to the software
- Using the DIALUX light assistant
- DIALUX interface – what can I find and where?
- Importing CAD drawings and laying them over with lighting layers
- Creating an indoor or outdoor scene
- Positioning furniture and objects
- Importing and exporting the objects created
- Importing textures
- Coloring and texturing surfaces
Day 2
- Room elements, furniture and 3D rendering
- How to use DIALUX luminaire plugins
- Importing any manufacturer’s luminaires
- Positioning and configuring luminaires
- Lighting Schemes for indoor and outdoor projects
- Light color and surface color
- Creating different light scenes
- Sunlight and daylight calculation
Day 3
- How to handle calculation surfaces
- Organizing the calculation results
- Exporting CAD-plans (.dwg or .dxf file)
- Animations (camera motion)
Day 4
- Simple interior layout and lumen method design calculation
- Creating a basic report of results for printing
- Understanding more about luminaire selection
- Dealing with modular spacing of luminaires
- Awareness of calculation grid layout and placement
- Artificial light calculations
- Viewing the results and understanding them
- Creating a report of selected results for printing
- Understanding and evaluating task uniformity
- Inserting customized objects e.g. stairs
Day 5
- Emergency lighting assessment and calculation in an open area
