Course Description

Audio quality is key for a successful music production release or broadcast. The quality of the sound product can be increased by every correct decision in the digital signal chain. This course teaches fundamental concepts and skills in musical post-production and audio restoration.  The late stages of music production such as editing, mixing and mastering are the main focal points for improving the quality of new audio materials. In addition, modern audio restoration tools will be used to demonstrate the methods for bringing up the audio quality of old material to a level good enough to be broadcasted. The course includes training in Pro Tools systems, but the skills and principles are applicable in a range of applications. The aural perception component focuses on spectrum and dynamics.
