Course Description
This course focuses on the assessment and management of the critically ill child. You will be learning the underpinning theory and management and practicing clinical skills which will help manage and improve outcomes for critically ill children. It gives participants the opportunity to reflect on their current practice and apply in depth knowledge and understanding of anatomy, physiology and therapeutic care and management of the critically ill child and family.
Course Objectives
- Evaluate assessment data, and implement a plan of care using evidence-based strategies specific to the acutely and critically ill child
- Demonstrate knowledge of common conditions experienced by acutely and critically ill pediatric patients
- Assess the effectiveness of the plan of care for the acutely and critically ill pediatric patient
