Course Description

Elderly patients are vulnerable for major trauma despite patient safety precautions exist for geriatric patients. They have a substantial risk of morbidity and mortality even after low-energy falls. As the world’s elderly population continues to increase, the number of elderly trauma patients is expected to increase. Limited data are available about the possible patient safety challenges that elderly trauma patients face. The outcomes and characteristics are not described well. Therefore it is essential to correctly evaluate and treat patient for saving lives and improve quality of their life. It is also related with high cost. Therefore we would like to emphasise to approach geraitric patients with trauma in detail.
