Course Description
This course presents the ideas and techniques fundamental to digital communication systems; it targets to provide a solid knowledge about the basic structures and fundamental principles of modern digital communication systems, the commonly used techniques of modulation, source coding, and channel coding. Also, to help participants to understand the concepts of information, entropy and channel capacity use
Course Objectives
- Understanding the limitation of communication system design, including bandwidth, power, error rate performance and implementation cost
- Learning how to use time/frequency signal analysis tools for communications system design
- Understanding how to design digital modulation techniques and corresponding optimum receivers
