51 - LONG - Long-Term Programs
LONG 505 - Pipe Fitting & Fabrication (52 Weeks)
Course Description
Pipe fitting/fabricating is the fit-up and assembly of all diameter pipes and fittings. E.g. Pipe hangers, pipe racks etc. As found in petrochemical plants and manufacturing facilities. Fabrication focuses on the assembly of materials such as plate, sheet, angle iron, bars etc. It also includes blueprint reading, care and use of hand power tools, arc welding, flame cutting, safe work habits and communications. This program will enable participants to pursue a successful career in the field of pipe fitting and fabrication by gaining beneficial knowledge in plant equipment and terms, basic piping data, pipe fabrication weld joints and joint preparation, procedures for laying out joining pieces, weld joint geometry and welding symbols, welding inspection, essential reference material for pipefitting, welding procedure specifications for carbon steel fillets, carbon steel plate and alloy steel and many more subjects
Note: "The minimum number of participants to conduct this course is 3 person"
