Course Description
A Public-Private Partnership (PPP) is a long-term contract between a public authority (like a government department) and a private company for the delivery of a public service or infrastructure project. In a PPP, the private sector usually finances, builds, and operates the project — such as highways, hospitals, schools, power plants, or water supply systems — for a certain period, often 20 to 30 years.
Instead of the government paying everything upfront and managing the service directly, the private company takes on significant responsibilities and risks (such as construction risk, financial risk, and operational risk). In return, the private partner is compensated, either through user fees (like tolls) or payments from the government (such as availability payments).
Participants in this course will gain practical skills to oversee project delivery, manage risks, ensure contract compliance, and maintain service standards throughout the project’s lifecycle.
