Course Description

The growing demand for bandwidth necessitates the transmission of large amounts of data in optical fibers. In long distance networks, such as metropolitan networks, data center interconnects, terrestrial long haul and submarine networks, this is achieved by multiplexing multiple data channels at different wavelengths into a single optical fiber.

DWDM training provides an overview of Dense Wavelength Division Multiplexing (DWDM) network planning, architecture, design, protocols, testing and implementation.

Course Objectives

Understanding the basics of DWDM

Explaiingn basic DWDM Network Designs and Engineering

Learning how to analyze optical links based on power budget

Classifying and designing DWDM networks based on size and performance

Understanding and basic design nodal architectures for different classification of DWDM networks

Learning how to utilize different parameters in DWDM networks and optical systems
