Course Description

 It is a crucial subject to define and study through a consistent and accurate model in statistical research. Thus, it is necessary to define the objectives of the research study, the elements that will be the subject of the study and the relationships between them.A good explanation of relationships ensures that the goals of the survey are realized with minor errors and convinces the readers that the study has a scientific point of view. One of the best models to choose within this framework is SEM. SEM modeling defines relationships not only in mathematical expressions, but also in schematic expressions. Since SEM explains relationships with error multipliers, it reports the results where the fewest errors will occur. Thus, it supports the researcher in concluding their goals safely and in the most accurate way. SEM design, which requires a strong application and statistical infrastructure during the design phase, is also handled and processed by powerful software. This course introduces SEM from a conceptual perspective. It presents schematically what can be done and how to do it. It aims to show how interpret sthe result reports with the relevant SEM software (SPSS-AMOS).

  • Basic concepts in the use of SEM

  • General approach for conducting a SEM analysis
  • Traditional statistical techniques and SEM
  • Types of structural equation models

Day 3

  • SEM technical aspects of SEM
  • Basic terminology of SEM
  • Basic symbols and relationships used in structural in SEM
  • Path analysis
  • Mathematical specification of structural equation

Day 4

  • Basic tutorial of SPSS_AMOS
  • What is AMOS,IBM SPSS ?
  • Solving SEM using AMOS

Day 5

  • SEM practical case studies and results comments.
  • At least one sample SEM practical case of following subjects will be analized with AMOS-SPSS. ( Healthcare System, Marketing Model, Productivity Model, SEM for Job Satisfaction and HR Policies, SEM for Student Performance and Teaching Pedagogy Model)
