Course Description
The two fundamental components in maintenance of the wheel-rail interface are control of friction and control of the wheel and rail profiles. Appropriate design of the wheel-rail interface, with attention to these factors, can greatly reduce maintenance requirements. Basic guidance and good practices to prevention of damage is presented in this course.
