Course Description

Participants will develop a strong understanding of both conventional and advanced production logging tools, techniques, and procedures to enhance oil recovery and optimize production. The course is designed around proven methodologies and an integrated approach, equipping engineers with the knowledge to make accurate decisions on improving well flow rates. By the end of the program, participants will be able to assess and diagnose well issues such as crossflow, behind-pipe leaks, fluid entry, and other production challenges.

Course Objectives

  • Analyze processed production logging data to extract key performance insights
  • Identify fluid entry points and flow patterns to optimize production rates
  • Diagnose common well issues such as crossflow, water breakthrough, and behind-pipe leaks
  • Select and apply the right production logging tools for different well types
  • Understand reservoir monitoring techniques and their integration with reservoir simulation
  • Interpret wellbore production profiles and evaluate formation contributions
  • Optimize zonal isolation and perforation strategies for maximum recovery
