Course Description

Flow assurance refers to the strategies and processes implemented to ensure the steady and efficient transportation of hydrocarbons from the reservoir to the production facilities, mitigating the risk of blockages and disruptions. It encompasses managing flow dynamics and production chemistry, addressing issues like hydrate formation, wax deposition, scale buildup, corrosion, and emulsion stability.

Flow assurance is vital in designing and operating pipelines and production systems, particularly in deepwater or extreme temperature environments. Industries use it to optimize output, minimize downtime, and safeguard infrastructure, thereby enhancing the economic viability and safety of extracting and transporting oil and gas resources.

Course Objectives

  • Have good understanding of revelant flow regimes that efect the integrity piping system and methods of control.
  • Recognise the cause and influence of the formation of substances that may damage the piping system or disrupt the process
  • Recognise variouse enviroment factors affecting pipline system.
  • Understand the basic of pipline corrosion and methods of protection .
  • Understand the application of relevent pipline maintenance and cleaning techniques.
