Course Description
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (CPR) is an essential life saving skill. It is an emergency medical procedures. CPR is unlikely to restart the heart, but rather its purpose is to maintain a flow of oxygenated blood to the brain and the heart. This is essential in delaying tissue death and extending the brief window of opportunity for a possible resuscitation and thus avoid a big complications that possible to occur. It trains participants to promptly recognize several life-threatening emergencies, give high-quality chest compressions, deliver appropriate ventilations and provide early use of an Automatic External Defibrillator.

- Recognizing situations requiring CPR and emergency first aid
- Introducing critical concepts of high-quality CPR
- Mastering skills of 1-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
- Mastering skills of 2-Rescuer CPR and AED for adult, child and infant
- Differentiating between adult, child and infant rescue techniques
- Understanding how does the heart work
- Learning about some diseases such as Heart disease, Respiratory Arrest, Obstructed Airway (choking), Stroke and how to handle with them

Day 2
- Stroke Chain of Survival
- 8 D’s of stroke care
- Definitions of ischemic and hemorrhagic stroke
- Pathophysiology
- Stroke risk factors, recognition and management
- Transition to critical care and rehabilitation
Day 3
- 1- and 2-rescuer child CPR and AED use
- 1- and 2-rescuer infant CPR
- Cardiac, respiratory and shock case discussions and simulations
- Emergency Cardiovascular Care
- Rhythm disturbances and electrical therapy
- Vascular access
Day 4
- Adult, child and infant relief of choking
- Universal signs for choking
- Abdominal thrusts
- Airway management
- Management of respiratory emergencies
Day 5
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support
- Symptoms of respiratory and cardiac arrest
- Symptoms of peri-arrest conditions
- Management of acute coronary syndromes (ACS) and stroke
