Course Description

The 5-day course illuminates the basic concepts of social work practice in healthcare. The purpose is to analyze the impact of socio-cultural factors on health and well-being, the significance of family relationships and resources in the management of chronic and complex health conditions. The course underlines the importance of the social determinants of health, and the impact of socio-cultural factors on health and well-being. The course will facilitate the development and integration of engagement skills, psychosocial assessments, and social work interventions with diverse population across the life cycle. Social work interventions – based on precise assessments – will help support individual and family capacity to adapt to acute physical and mental health crises or chronic health conditions.
