Course Description

 The course is designed to prepare trainees to analyze and design information systems in health services organizations. The purpose of this course is to provide participants with the ability to define operational and strategic objectives for health services management information systems and to guide the design of systems to meet those objectives.  Particular emphasis will be placed upon the operational planning and design of systems, and the proper interpretation and utilization of processed information for program management purposes.  Software for clinical data collection, storage and patient management (including the maintenance of confidentiality) will be addressed using analytical thinking to evaluate both software and hardware choices.
