Course Description
This is a customized program for Ashghal technical staff members (fresh engineers) to be conducted in Istanbul in colloaboration with relevant authorities and administrations.
One of the most challenges that face rural and urban authorities is the collection and treatment of rainwater and the creation of a good sewerage treatment system for wastewater. It is necessary to constantly conduct researches and develop new designs, products and materials to maintain the system in good condition in order to minimize the operational and maintenance costs. This course aims at providing an explanation of the elements and processes involved in the drainage system designs and a recommendation of appropriate application. It describes different types of sewerage systems, their advantages and disadvantages as well as their criteria for design, construction, operation and maintenance. International best practices and latest technologies will also be addressed briefly.
The program will be interactive involving activities, site visits and workshops by instructors who have long experience in the field. Participants in this program will have the opportunity get an overview of the field. Topics will be covered at high level and rather than in depth. Tentative course structure is given below, but based on further input by Ashghal, topics are subject to change.
