Course Description

A flow meter is used to measure gas flow and should demonstrate high accuracy, low-pressure drop, and direct mass flow readings. High-quality natural gas measurement increases efficiency in boiler/burner control, fuel-to-air ratio, and custody transfer applications. The bottom line is the more accurate your natural gas measurements and gas flow control, the more money you will save in natural gas costs.

Course Objectives

  • Appreciate design criteria and importance of accuracy in gas quantity and quality measurements
  • Basics of measurement uncertainty
  • Understand measurement concepts and types of error
  • Understand the basic concepts, principles of operation and equipment used for typical liquid/gas metering systems, meter proving, sampling and analysis
  • Understand typical operations, control functions and record keeping requirements for crude liquid/gas metering systems

Who Should Attend?

  • Production Supervisors
  • Instrument Supervisors
  • Graduate Engineers
  • Process Engineers
