Course Description
The purpose of this course is to capture the current best practices and available technologies for ERD and complex well drilling planning and implementation. The course starts by explaining how high angle & ERD are different. It covers topics such as engineering and design problem identification and offers solutions for different circumstances. It also covers operations and practices for all directional wells in general and for ERD-specific well in specific.
Course Objectives
- Discuss the requirements of High angle and ER wells
- Get to know the fit-for-purpose equipment
- Learn appropriate practices applied in these wells
- Understand that most problems are self-inflicted and learn how to avoid them
- Discuss some misconceptions about sweeps, wiper trips, and mud
