Course Description

This course covers the fundamentals concepts of software configuration and product life cycle management.

At the most fundamental level, product lifecycle management (PLM) is the strategic process of managing the complete journey of a product from initial ideation, development, service, and disposal. Put another way, PLM means managing everything involved with a product from cradle to grave. Software configuration management is the task of tracking and controlling changes in the software. SCM practices include revision control and the establishment of baselines.

The goal of this course is for students to understand the methodologies and application of change management, configuration management, and product life cycle management.
