Course Description

Somebody claims that, if a 25 cents was dropped from the top of a skyscraper, it would be going so fast when it hit the pavement and if it hit a person, it would break his skull.

how would you test such a claim?

Of course it doesn’t make any sense to ask someone to stand and you make a real experiment, however, we can test this myth by making and analyzing a model. and that is exactly what is this course is all about.

The essential skills of modeling — abstraction, analysis, simulation, and validation — are central in engineering, natural sciences, social sciences, medicine, and many other fields.

Many scientists learn these skills implicitly, but in most real life applications they are not able to experience that explicitly, and as a result many real life applications has not been done. That’s the problem this course is meant to address.

Course Objectives

  • Modeling and simulation methodologies considering both practical and theoretical aspects
  • Grasp modeling concepts with emphasis on performance analysis
  • Build simulation models and parameterization using synthetic data
  • Analyze simulation output data to evaluate performance criteria
  • Create a complete imaginary situation where the trainee can design a simulative, descriptive, and finally predictive model
  • Create your own simulation room, e.g, aircraft simulation room and possible surrounding interaction scenarios
